The legendary Howie Pyro spins 45s at Ace Hotel Palm Springs every Friday night for Intoxica Radio Live, a live version of his weekly broadcast on Luxuria Music. Howie’s played with Danzig and Debbie Harry, and DJ’d Christina Aguilera’s twenty-first birthday. He’s also adopted dad of Phil Spector’s old dog. Every weekend, he drops a needed dose of weirdness on us, with psycho soul, voodoo rock, and bizarre one-offs from his collection of over 30,000 records. It’s always a good time. This Tuesday, his radio show will feature guests, punk and rock n roll legends Sylvain Sylvain (New York Dolls) and Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys / Rocket From the Tombs). Both artists are a huge influence on Howie’s life and music, and they’re all long-time friends from Howie’s teen years. They have a new band called The Batusis.
