A hand-selected collection of prints from Aperture Foundation’s reGeneration2 are up in our gallery at Ace Hotel New York (off the lobby, near Opening Ceremony). The reGeneration project supports emerging photographers at the beginning of their careers by including limited edition prints of their early work in a traveling international exhibition, giving collectors a chance to support the artists and own a bit of their earliest work.
The prints — all of which negotiate their (creative and physical) fields stunningly — were selected by The Musée de l’Elysée from the most promising candidates of some 700 entries submitted by 120 of the world’s top photography schools. The result is an inspiring and dynamic collection that includes documentary and fictive, film and digital mediums, and spontaneous and highly conceptual work work. Come have a look (and buy some art) — the installation is up through February 17.
Photos in order by C.R. Grana, Jacinthe Lessard, Margo Ovcharenko, Kristoffer Axen, Regine Petersen, Sophie Lvoff and Tereza Vlckova.
