The Portland-based international darlings of Pink Martini kick off a global tour for their seventh studio album Get Happy next Monday, just a few blocks from our front door.

The “little orchestra,” led by pianist Thomas Lauderdale and the inimitable China Forbes, shares their latest effort (and 5,000 balloons placed around the city—we can only assume they’ve got a clean-up strategy in place) with a free performance in Pioneer Square on September 16 at 6pm. If you hang your hat farther to the east, catch them at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on September 22, or at the final stop of their tour in Sofia, Bulgaria (really though).
