If you’re in New York anytime from now through February next year, make sure to visit Madison Square Park to see new media artist Jim Campbell’s Scattered Light. Our friends at Mad Sq Art, who brought you the Antony Gormley Event Horizon exhibition, are behind this magical work of……well, magic.
And, yes, this movie IS trippy.

This is Patrick Wilson. And Antony Gormley. Patrick is the final winner of our Antony Gormley Event Horizon contest. He’s taking home some extraordinary stuff —- we know some of what we’re putting in the package, but it really remains to be seen what we feel inspired to throw in. Event Horizon NYC is adding to the loot. Thanks to everyone who participated over the last twenty weeks. It’s been beautiful.

Bryan Schorn and Hoi-Sun Tong won a tie fair and square this week in the Antony Gormley contest. We also got some photos of Gormley Winner Alum Jeremy Knaster sharing his prize Event Horizon t-shirt with the man who made him famous.

This coming week is THE LAST WEEK to send in your entries! We’ll announce the final winner on August 13th, and this person will receive some very special loot. Be sure to send your entries by August 12th to eventhorizon@acehotel.com. And go vote on our new entries by clicking on the Gormley button in the sidebar. There’s a lot of juvenile leering at the naked man this time. Whatever you need to get out of your system about Gormley’s nakedness, do it now, and send us photos. The exhibition comes down August 15th.

This psychedelic and strangely calming photograph reminds us of the colortones in a Hitchcock movie. It’s by David Hogarty, our winning contender for the Gormley contest for this week. We’re sending him some strong, delicious coffee.
Thoughts from this week’s entrants (all creative spelling is theirs):

I just stayed with you for 1 week, and when I noticed the first statue, I seriously thought this guy was going to jump. stpped the taxi. and kinnda started shouting, until someone told me about the Event Horizon.

On Sunday my family, friends, and I stumbled across the Madison Square park first looking at the statue of William Seward as he was born in a town not far from us in Florida, NY. As it started raining we searched for cover under the trees in the park. When the rain finally let up we noticed a man standing on a building, and another and another ! We later found out it was Antony Gormley’s exhibit. We then walked to the Empire State building in search of as many sculptures as we could find. It was great fun roaming the streets of NYC admiring the art and architecture of the city.    My Dad snapped this photo on his phone as we were posing with the sculptures.

Many of the image files were also named “naked man.” As the exhibition draws to a close, decorum is breaking down and people seem to riff more and more on the nekkid-ness. Anyways, the new entries are really good. Go vote by clicking on the Gormley button in the sidebar. And send us your entries to win something you can share with your friends or hoard all for yourself.
