We’re honored to have been invited by the Vancouver Art Gallery to collaborate in the Grand Hotel: Redesigning Modern Life exhibit. Installations feature some of our Ace Hotel amenities we’ve created with friends and a pop up gift shop with wares made exclusively for Grand Hotel, focused on goods made in the Pacific Northwest. Check in and check us out if you’re in the area.

These are our latest cooperative take on Churchill’s classic Maverick motorcycle gloves, made by hand in their Centralia, Washington factory. They’ve been glovemaking since 1897 and they’ve really got the hang of it. They’re hand-sewn from prime deerskin leather, in black with palm pads, suede thumbs and wrist straps with burnished brass snaps.
You can still score twenty percent off these bad boys and as much swag as your cyber cart can carry from our online mercantile, til the clocktower at King Street Station strikes midnight — that’s Pacific Standard.

Behold the wild leather daddies of Tanner Goods who are heavy into the scene. They’ve created a new fall collection with us just in time for the season of Dead Poets Society meets Village People meets Sartorialist meets Karlheinz Weinberger garb and furnishings. A season for popping your collar against the brisk wind with an entourage of fine leather goods in your pockets. Stuff your own or another’s stockings with these guys — they’re built to last forever, because that’s something we’re into bringing back.

Brad Elterman’s Ace x Impossible slides from Desert Gold 2012. We also had a little contest both weekends for a stay at Ace and some other gifts from yours truly — stay tuned for those shots from the field.

It feels good to say YES and make beautiful things.

A day in the life of our new nail kit with Uslu Airlines — a polish in gunmetal gray and a discretely proportioned, cleverly striped emory board. Yeah, nail polish. And lederhosen.

We’re excited to announce our new partnership with old friends - The Impossible Project. Impossible produces new instant film for classic Polaroid cameras, keeping the visceral art of instant analog photography alive for today’s romantics.
To empower you to capture every fleeting moment, each guest room at Ace Hotels in New York, Palm Springs, Portland and Seattle is now stocked with a refurbished Polaroid camera and limited edition, custom packs of Impossible x Ace Hotel PX600 Silvershade instant black & white film in the mini-bar.
Custom film and cameras are also available on our online shop and at select niche retail shops worldwide including The Impossible Project Spaces in Vienna, Tokyo and New York.
To celebrate, we’re hosting a gallery show through October 14, featuring works by friends of Ace and The Impossible Project. To learn more about the artists on display or to share your own work with fellow dreamers and instant photography-lovers alike, check out acehotel.com/impossible.
We’ll have more news about our year-long collaboration with Impossible right here on our blog. Stay tuned…
Brothers Emil and Sandy Corsillo run The Hill-Side. They’ve become good friends over the last year and also happen to make some great looking neck- and pocketware. We brainstormed with them about making something for Ace, and what came about was this small run of scarves, bandanas and pocket squares made from 9oz selvedge, indigo-dyed heavy chambray from Kojima, Japan. The scarf has an affirmation that we hold very true to our hearts — Everything is going to be alright — hand-embroidered by Brooklyn artist Kate Durkin in Queens, NY. The bandana and pocket square are unadorned but for their winsome charm and chiseled jawlines. We have only a handful of each iteration — they’re now up on our online shop, as of today.
