Klaus Haapaniemi is one of the designers making a mix tape for Sister Ray and their Mix Tape Project, where our favorite record store in London — and, well, our hotel — asks designers to pick’em during the London Design Festival. We’ll be popping the tape in the lobby’s hi-fi, and you can also get your fill in Sister Ray while you stock up. Soon we’ll all hear what he hears.

We experience the world through recurring acts of daily ritual. A bowl of apples, an ink stain, a shadow on a wall can be talismans of a secret household culture. As senators of our own days’ experience, the reimagining of simple objects can be at once existentially disruptive and strangely comforting. Italian research workshop and studio Fabrica writes the poetry of ordinary things in Extra-Ordinary Gallery, a collection of everyday objects reimagined.
