Brad Elterman’s Ace x Impossible slides from Desert Gold 2012. We also had a little contest both weekends for a stay at Ace and some other gifts from yours truly — stay tuned for those shots from the field.

One of our very favorite culture and fashion sites, Nowness, today premiered a Chinese language version of their original content, including this short about Beijing-based artist Zeng Fanzhi. It behooves you to keep an eye on them — they are excellent hunter gatherers.
Our friend Sam at Tanner Goods spoke with filmmaker Ryan Bush about learning craft and making real things, and belt maestro Alex Toyoshima rocked the Ace x Tanner Goods Days of Heaven leather bracelet.
The Pittsburgh Photo Fair is the first PGH’s first photography art fair in recorded history, and it runs this weekend, April 21-22, at the former East Liberty YMCA ballroom. See more information about open hours, exhibitors and directions here.

We took some of our Opening Ceremony x Ace Hotel & Swim Club vending machine souvenirs out to desert for some ribs — but they’ll be back for Desert Gold by sunrise. Don’t wait up. Photographed up in Pioneertown, CA, behind Pappy & Harriets.
Steven Harrington is painting a ginormous mural on the side of the Commune for Desert Gold 2012. Steven’s also taking a break from his pop-up shop with Generic Surplus, Roadside Attraction, to guest DJ Saturday night in the Amigo Room with Stronghold.
There’s still a handful of rooms available, but they’re going fast. See the full line-up and book a room.

Here be collage works by Adee Roberson, a multimedia artist, vocalist, drummer and writer in residence for the month of April at Ace Hotel New York by way of Portland, New Orleans, Florida and every which way elsewhere. She holds it down every Monday in the lobby with her partner in crime Anna Luisa Petrisko under their shared moniker Mother Popcorn. They are both wizards of the highest order.
