LOVE IS ALL: Valentine’s Day in New York City

We’re giving away one night in a Loft Suite at Ace New York on Valentine’s Day. Register here, and enter by February 10th (that’s Wednesday).

Even if you don’t win, we have other special, somewhat scandalous packages for you and your very important person:

It snowed.

New York City is covered in snow. This picture is from the window of room 918. It’s pretty epic.

If you’re stuck here, you can stay with us for not very much, and we’ll buy you a Stumptown hot chocolate while you’re here. If you’re not stuck here, you’re kind of missing out because it looks really beautiful in the streets, and the hot chocolate is ridiculously good.

Ace Hotel & Swim Club has been open for one year. We’re celebrating with a very special rate on Thursday, February 11. Come stay with us on in the desert on our anniversary.

We’re having a Valentine’s dance in the Commune at Ace Hotel & Swim Club. It’s on February 13th, from 9pm to midnight. A full bar and cupcakes. Wear something sharp and get your picture taken in the photobooth (then email them to us, we might put them up here). DJ Alf Alpha will spin 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s, followed by Evaro from Joshua Tree, California.
If you book two nights with us over Valentine’s weekend, we’ll give you two tickets to the party and $50 to spend at the spa.
To book, see more about the party, and RSVP, see the full invitation on our Facebook page.

Modernism Week in Palm Springs

2010 Palm Springs Modernism Week : 12 - 21 February 2010.

In February, a flock of vintage Airstream trailers will park on the grounds of Ace Hotel & Swim Club. We’re sponsoring the 2010 Palm Springs Modernism Week, and Ace will host some of the events, including a movie night, After Glow party, and a symposium on Reassessing the Organic Tradition in American Architecture.

The week will take locals and visitors through the Albert Frey II house, to a retro martini party at Lautner’s Elrod House, a Julias Shulman film screening at the Frank Sinatra Twin Palms estate, a fashion show, and the 10th Annual Modernism Show + Sale. Buy tickets or a MW Passport, but soon.

It makes sense for Ace to be involved because it’s built from a 1965 Howard Johnson. King’s Highway used to be a Denny’s. Now it’s a mix of midcentury architecture and newer elements that keep things interesting. Ace is all about a sense of place, and we are intrigued by Palm Springs Desert Modernism and how excited people are about it all over the world.

There are two room packages for Modernism Week guests, The Frey and The Modern Vacation.

The Frey: Special package for Modernism Week attendees February 12 - 21.

Reserve a room with the Frey Package and receive 20% off restaurant and bar, 20% off spa services, a pass to the Palm Springs Art Museum to see their new exhibition and attend a lecture by Bill Butler on Albert Frey (Tuesday), Charles Phoenix in The Commune (Friday), and a complimentary tour of vintage Airstream trailers hosted on the Ace Hotel grounds (Saturday). 2 night minimum – $199 per night.

Use this code when booking this package: MODWEEK2.
