There are many kinds of farmers — hair farmers, cherry farmers, and the like. We admire all ilks, and welcome you to come celebrate those that cultivate creative energy at The Farmer’s Block at Ace Palm Springs this Saturday, June 4. It’s a communal-style block party on our patio full of art, design, organic food and cocktails, DJs and one of our very favorite producers, Mexicans with Guns.

One very handsome bike created by our friend Thomas Callahan of Horse Cycles. Thomas has handcrafted a lot of goods for Ace Hotel New York including our Other Music shelves, bellcarts and garment racks. Tonight, he brings his Midas touch to a big afterparty for the New Amsterdam Bicycle Show, replete with lasers, a smoke machine, DJ, dance party and “projections” — digital or emotional, you’ll only find out if you go.
Celebrate the Bike Show and introduce yourself to some select vintage and custom Horse Cycles including Johnny Coast and Geekhouse. Aerial acrobat Francis Stallings will be swinging from the rafters at 1am. Free beer from Narragansett until midnight. Bring your bike, bring your self and bring your friends to 321 Rutledge Street, just off the Williamsburg bridge. We’ll see you there with bells on.

Just some off-season spookery for you, if you’ve had a little too much holiday cheer for the weekend. This is from our Halloween party at Ace Hotel Palm Springs with The Flashdance, and these were taken by Amelia Lyon

We had a retro Valentine’s dance at Ace Hotel & Swim Club on February 13th at Ace Hotel Palm Springs. Doo Wop in the Desert was a collaboration with The Coachella Valley Art Scene, a local hub for art, music, and events in the valley. They also provide hair and fashion advice to retro style enthusiasts. Over 250 people attended in their finest vintage to dance, take photos in the customized photobooth, and eat frosted cupcakes from The Kid’s Business. DJ Alf Alpha kept everyone on their feet between two live sets by Evaro, a local band from Joshua Tree, with separate 50s and 70s themed outfits for each set. They were amazing and we’ll definitely be bringing them back to Ace. See our original invitation, and look at more shots from the party.

And if you had your photo taken at the party, email it to us. We might put it up on our blog.

Solange Knowles killed it Saturday onstage with Dirty Projectors at Opening Ceremony’s Fashion Week party at Ace Hotel New York’s Liberty Hall.

An Opening Ceremony

Saturday night we celebrated the opening of our two new retail spaces, Opening Ceremony and No. 8a, for Fashion Week at Ace Hotel New York. We like having parties as much as we like making hotels, so we had fun with some of the elements for OC’s party. Our design partners, OMFGCo, stamped and grommetted leather press and VIP badges, and silkscreened OC x Levi’s gift bags. OMFGCo shared some pictures of their die-cutting and letterpress process on their blog. The bags contained, among other gifts, the last remaining pairs of of the Conversex Ace NYC collaboration hightops, a reissue of a discontinued, vintage colorway. (You can look for a new collaborations between Ace and Converse soon.)

We also invited a couple of our friends to play the lobby. DJ Nasir from Neverstop, who we’ve known since Ace was just a little 28-room guest housein Seattle, played dance music in the evening, and Stumptown brought Beyondadoubt, one of Portland’s favorite DJs, to play a late night set of 60’s soul 45s.

After a celebration dinner of fried chicken, suckling pig, mashed potatoes and biscuits at the Breslin, OC friends and family watched DJ Solange Knowles take the stage with Dirty Projectors at Liberty Hall.

Upstairs, party-goers perused Phillip Lim eye masks and No. 8a’s anti-souvenirs and Jason Schwarzman got a closer look at the goods.

WWD took some pictures of OC’s friends, and Style.com called them nerds.

Here are some shots from our Valentine’s Day/birthday party at Ace Hotel Portland (we just turned three). It was fun and laid-back. We had a great crowd of all ages who had fun crafting valentines with awesome art supplies from Readymade - especially the Xyron sticker machines. Everyone liked the Clyde Continental breakfast too.
