Thomas Bullock started DJing in 1980s Brighton as a teenager at the notorious Tonka Hi-Fi, and went on to re-invigorate the NYC dance underground in the 90s with collaborator and friend, DJ Harvey. They threw lawless, raucous parties in dive bars and apartments, invitation by word of mouth, and garnered a cult following with what they called “disco theater.” Thomas is still innovating, and has such an impressive résumé we can’t even list it all here. One half of Rub n’ Tug, one half of Map of Africa. The man behind Whatever We Want Records, and edits and remixes from Otterman Empire to the Beastie Boys, Roxy Music to Bat For Lashes. He’s spinning alongside DJs Nitedog and Eug, with live performances by Adele Jacques and Disco Fromage at our Fourth of July party with Generic Surplus this weekend at Ace Palm Springs. To top it off we have really cheap rooms all weekend, and we’re barbecuing Sunday by the Commune Pool. Get some friends and meet us there.
And if you can’t make it to the desert, we have a special rate in New York through Monday.
