Textile artist Travis Meinolf performed a public weaving for six days in our Ace London lobby. Local artist Max Lamb — who also helped us design our lobby bar — joined him to build a custom loom on which he wove skeins of flecked Irish Donegal wool into a 30-foot long blanket. The performance connected those who would ultimately use the blanket directly to Meinolf’s production process. He travels all over the world to weave in this way — using his performances to engage with his audience and share ideas. And sometimes, like here, to share space under a warm wool blanket.
"Since the pleasure is in the making, sharing is easy and adds a sense of communal well-being.” — Travis Meinolf
