The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure.
Happy birthday Joseph Campbell.

Our dear and brilliant friend, Chantale Doyle, is a curator, collector and life-liver of the highest order. Her shop, Mt. Fuji General Store, has emboldened and inspired the Joshua Tree creative community, not to mention many travelers and wanderers, for years as Chantale spent five summer the last five years traveling twenty-four US states and three Canadian provinces (not to mention Ace Palm Springs for a few pop-up shops) in her vegetable oil-converted VW bus creating an awe-inspiring collection of vintage goods. Now, she’s set up shop at Reform School on Sunset and Hyperion in Silverlake, LA with YES — do yourself an enormous favor and catch a glimpse of Chantale’s unexpected selection of vintage and new men’s and women’s clothes, accessories, eyewear and treasures — like these hand-beaded VANS made exclusively for YES by BrownBeaded — before it’s rampaged. She’s hosting an opening party this Saturday, June 30 from 7-10pm and you’re invited. See what’s in store (see what we did there?) here.

"As we’ve been blasted with in recent months, gay marriage continues to be a hot-button issue, and will likely be in the upcoming election. For the longest time I’ve had a visual in my head of Veruca La’Pirahna and Jordan Fox getting married! Jordan assuming the role of the woman getting married in a recently gifted wedding dress, given to her by a friend who was married in it 20 years prior and Veruca as this sort of gender-fuck version of a man… So you have this wedding scene, complete with a skull ring and Veruca with a sad face (and we’ll let you decide why)."
A word from our friend Jeremy Kost about his book It’s Always Darkest Before Dawn, a limited edition of which just went up on our shop. These polaroids are originals by Kost, and each is hand-numbered, signed, and tucked away in the back of each book. We’re thrilled to celebrate gay marriage and gay everything — congrats New York!

Protest against the rising tide of conformity. Happy Sunday.

A shot from Carole Sternicha's weekend at Ace Hotel Palm Springs. The Film Fest is kicking here all week, it’s 75 degrees and we just ordered ceviche and a Patrón Facial. Pretty good Monday.

We found these on One Trip Pass’s blog.

ONE TRIP PASS X ACE HOTEL : PART I
Ace NYC curator, Jou-Yie, met up Jay Carroll of One Trip Pass for another run, this time out west in Portland, Ore. Here’s their report:

We picked up the Airstream and big red Chevy 2500 Diesel (on loan from both companies respectively) and our friend and photographer Nate Bressler and hit the road for an adventure down the West Coast highway, collecting a mix of art, craft, vintage and experience. We stayed at Fort Stevens State Park last night outside of Astoria, Ore. (of Goonies fame) and are now headed south. Come check out our mobile shop when we get down to LA next week. More on that later — in the meantime, check back here for notes from the road.
